Butte County Farm Bureau is hosting new firearms classes for members
Hunters Education– Has been Cancelled
This class has been cancelled for August 23rd. We will be scheduling another class in January or February. To find out more or get on the waitlist for the winter class, please call the BCFB office at (530)533-1473.
Class Information and Requirements:
•Class is $10 per person and open to youth and adults
•Class will begin promptly at 8:30am and will conclude at approximately 4:30pm.
•Lunch will be provided
•Participants must pre-register for the class
•The Hunter’s Education class completes the 10 hours of required instruction. Eight hours in the classroom and two hours at home before the class.
•To complete the course, each participant will take a required 100 question exam. An 80% score is required to pass.
•Each participant will receive a handbook and scantron before the class. The scantron must be completed before the class begins. If not completed, participant will not be allowed into the class.
•If a minor is attending without a parent or guardian the scantron must be completed and signed by a parent or guardian
The Hunter's Education course will be held at the BCFB office 2580 Feather River Boulevard, Oroville, CA 95965.
Handling Handguns for Women – September 25, 2014
The Butte County Farm Bureau Handling Handguns Course class is open to women members only and space is limited! This class is a step up from the firearms safety course and participants will be able to handle and fire their guns with the supervision and guidance of a professional.
• Thursday, September 25, 2014 at 9:30AM – 2:30PM
• Class is $60/person and includes lunch and refreshments
• Instructed by Dan Azevedo of Azevedo Firearms Training
• Located at Azevedo Firearms Training, 182 Hastings Avenue Biggs, CA 95917
• Class includes approximately 5 hours of instruction on topics of but not limited to:
Loading, unloading, proper hand, shoulder and cheek placement.
Some firearms laws
Basics on how to clean a firearm
Firearm and ammunition storage.
Participant should have their own gun and 100 rounds of ammunition. If you do not have your own gun but wish to take the class please contact Kayla at the BCFB office to make those arrangements.
